Spotlight Sports Group US MD heads for the exit
Harry von Behr calls time on six-year spell with affiliate as he confirms plans to take on consultancy work

Spotlight Sports Group US managing director Harry von Behr has departed the affiliate after six years.
The former PwC head confirmed his decision to leave the Racing Post parent company having originally joined the business in January 2018 as head of business development.
In January 2020, von Behr was promoted to strategy and business development director before shifting his focus when named MD for sport and acting US CEO in August 2022.
Finally, in December 2022, von Behr was appointed US MD where he was responsible for strategy and P&L across Spotlight Sports Group’s US operations.
The brand is live in the US with its Pickswise and Fantasy Alarm brands, which have both grown in recent years.
Von Behr also confirmed he would be taking a sabbatical from full-time work before deciding on his next permanent position.
Taking to LinkedIn, von Behr said: “After six thoroughly enjoyable years with Spotlight Sports Group, I’ve decided it’s time for a fresh challenge.“It’s been rewarding to see SSG evolve to become more digital, more international and more renowned as a multi-sport content provider, and it’s been a privilege to be a part of that.
“Leading the sports, US and B2B business units over the last few years has been a particular highlight,” he added.
The exec’s departure marks the second major exit from Spotlight Sports Group in recent months after Americas SVP Gethin Evans stepped down in December.
