Sportsbet scoops hat-trick at EGR Australia Awards
Paddy Power-owned brand retains operator of the year prize as Matt Tripp's BetEasy takes home rising star award
Sportsbet scooped a hat-trick of gongs at yesterday’s eGaming Review Australia Operator Awards following a stellar year for the Paddy Power-owned sportsbook brand.
The operator fended off stiff competition from TAB, William Hill’s Tom Waterhouse brand, and Betfair to retain the operator of the year award it picked-up at the inaugural ceremony last year, with Sportsbet head of strategy Jay Sellick present to collect the trophy (pictured).
Sportsbet also took home mobile sports product and marketing campaign of the year at the ceremony, which was held at Sydney’s Shangri-La hotel and hosted by Australian World Cup-winning rugby union star Nick Farr-Jones.
Ladbrokes’ Australia-facing business was highly commended in the operator of the year category for its work since launching in late 2013 while Matt Tripp’s BetEasy brand took home the coveted rising star award following its launch last year.
OpenBet beat Sporting Solutions and RewardBet.com to win software supplier of the year award and Skrill landed payments company of the year, with Bettingpro.com.au taking home the affiliate of the year title.
