Sportsbet.io nets NBA star Tristan Thompson as brand ambassador
Cleveland Cavaliers star pens two-year deal with the operator to front up branded content and give betting tips to customers

Sportsbet.io has named NBA star Tristan Thompson as the crypto-first operator’s latest global ambassador.
Thompson, who plays for the Cleveland Cavaliers, has agreed a two-year deal to become the latest famous figure to partner with the Yolo Entertainment brand.
The NBA star will be providing weekly betting tips on several sports, including NFL, MLB, football, tennis, golf, UFC and boxing.
Thompson, who won the NBA Championship in 2016, has been a vocal advocate for cryptocurrencies.
The Canadian launched a new YouTube podcast last year, Courtside Crypto, and regularly takes to social media to espouse the benefits of the digital currency.
Thompson joins cricket legend Brett Lee, former Arsenal star Kanu and Kenyan rapper King KaKa in Sportsbet.io’s growing brand ambassador stable.
Speaking on the deal, Thompson said: “Sportsbet.io brings together my two biggest passions: sports and cryptocurrency.
“I’ve been following the crypto sector for some time now and have seen how transformative it can be. There’s no better place to combine that with my love of sports than Sportsbet.io.”
Shane Anderson, Yolo Entertainment director of partnership, content and brand, added: “We’d like to give a huge Sportsbet.io welcome to Tristan, an elite athlete whose passion for both basketball and cryptocurrency makes him a perfect match for us.
“We’re thrilled to have him on the team, and we already have some exciting plans in the works. Watch this space.”
