Sportradar seals Optima acquisition
Sportradar says platform acquisition will make it a ‘one-stop-shop’ B2B service provider

Sportradar has announced the acquisition of Spanish-headquartered platform provider Optima, effective immediately.
As first reported by EGR last week, the acquisition fills out Sportradar’s product portfolio, giving it a player management platform alongside its data and managed trading services.
“This will create a global ‘one-stop-shop’ technology and services business capable of offering a complete turnkey solution,” Sportradar said in a press release this morning.
The firm said its data and risk management services would continue to be platform-agnostic, while existing partnerships would be unaffected.
“This acquisition puts us in prime position to achieve our aim of becoming the world’s leading supplier of modular turnkey betting services and solutions,” said Carsten Koerl, Sportradar CEO.
“Optima utilises the very best-in-breed technology to provide their clients with the most advanced and flexible platforms, and having a 360-degree product portfolio is a key part of our future growth strategy. We are delighted to welcome them to the Sportradar family.”
No financial details of the deal were given, but EGR understands the price tag was in the £25m range.
“Optima joining Sportradar is the next natural step in the achievement of our company vision,” said Optima CEO Jacob Lopez.
“Sportradar is an organisation that I have admired for a very long time, and we couldn’t be happier to be joining forces with them.”
