Sportradar launches tech-focused content event series
Data giant’s first session will focus on Monumental Sports & Entertainment CEO Ted Leonsis

Sportradar is set to launch a series of in-house events to provide insight and analysis into the businesses of sport and technology.
Sportradar Connect will feature conversations with thought leaders and C-level executives to bring their knowledge and expertise to a series of roundtable discussions.
The first event, which will be held on 23 February, will feature Ted Leonsis, the CEO of Washington-based Monumental Sports & Entertainment.
Monumental owns the NHL’s Capitals, NBA’s Wizards and WNBA’s Mystics, as well as the Capital One Arena, while Leonsis is an investor in Sportradar.
Sportradar CEO Carsten Koerl will introduce Leonsis, with the event being moderated by Sportico business reporter Eben Novy-Williams.
Throughout the session, Leonsis is due to cover the impact of Covid-19, engaging younger audiences, improving the fan experience and the rise of esports.
The events will initially run digitally due to the ongoing pandemic before eventually shifting to in-person events.
Koerl said: “Sportradar Connect is an opportunity to highlight the key technology and innovation trends to partners and the wider industry at large, while stimulating conversation and debate.
“We’re excited to welcome Ted as our first guest speaker. He is one of the pre-eminent business brains at the intersection of sports and innovation and it is an honour for Sportradar to have him launching our new event series,” he added.
