SportPesa nets Southampton betting partnership deal
Kenyan operator boosts Premier League presence after recent Hull City partnership

African online betting firm SportPesa has signed its second Premier League sponsorship deal this week to become an official betting partner of Southampton FC.
The Kenyan operator signed a three-year shirt sponsorship deal with newcomers Hull City earlier this week, entering the UK market for the first time as a result of the agreement.
And it has since secured a three-year deal with the Saints to become their betting partner ahead of the new season.
The multi-million pound deal will see the South Coast club supporting the development of young football players in Kenya by sending Football Development & Support staff to the African nation.
Young Kenyan players will visit the club’s Staplewood Campus to experience the demands of football development at a Premier League club.
“Our vision is for Kenya to participate in the 2022 FIFA World Cup and this partnership is a step in that direction,” said Ronald Karauri, SportPesa CEO.
“We look forward to welcoming Saints Football Development & Support staff to Kenya as well as the opportunity to send our young players to the club’s Staplewood Campus to learn the demands of football development.”
SportPesa, which launched in 2014, is also currently the title sponsor of Kenya’s top-tier football competition.
