SportPesa and Fun88 score Premier League sponsorship deals
Two operators target further UK growth following multi-year shirt sponsorship agreements with Everton and Newcastle United

SportPesa and Fun88 have signed multi-year shirt sponsorship agreements with Everton and Newcastle United, as the two operators look to build their presence in the UK market.
Africa-focused SportPesa’s deal with Everton is most lucrative in its history, according to the Merseyside club, and will see the brand featured on the team’s shirts for the next five years.
The deal comes after the sports betting operator recently opened a new office on Liverpool’s waterfront, including the creation of more than 70 jobs, as part of the firm’s ongoing European expansion.
Ivo Bozukov, director of global strategy for SportPesa, said: “This is a proud and monumental day in the history of our organisation.
“Everton Football Club is a world-renowned sporting institution and a club of proud tradition and rich history. We are thrilled to have secured an alignment with Everton, a club weaved prominently throughout the tapestry of world football.”
Last month, SportPesa also became the official African gaming partner of Spain’s La Liga competition.
Meanwhile, Asia-facing Fun88’s partnership with the newly-promoted Magpies will last for the next three seasons and follows previous deals with top-tier clubs such as Tottenham Hotspur and Burnley FC.
According to the Newcastle Evening Chronicle, the deal is the biggest in the club’s history, surpassing United’s previous deal with payday loan company Wonga which was worth £24m.
Nathan Walker, director at FUN88, said: “It’s a hugely exciting time to partner with one of the most famous clubs in English football.
“Our previous sponsorships in English football have delivered great results and I’m certain Newcastle United provides FUN88 with a platform to move to new heights.”
