Paul Turner serves last day at the spread betting operator on Friday before moving to the video games industry

The head of Sporting Index, Paul Turner, is leaving the business after four years of service, EGR has learned.
Turner, whose last day at the spread betting operator comes today, is moving to a new role as EVP of marketing at video games technology firm Green Man Gaming.
Turner said in a LinkedIn post: “After four years my time at Sporting Group has come to an end. I feel lucky to have worked with some amazingly talented people on some fantastic projects. Redefining the marketing strategy, launching new mobile channels, a new casino product vertical, and most recently, a successful rebrand.
“Not to mention an absolute beauty of a World Cup ad campaign! Now a few days’ rest, before embarking on my next challenge as EVP marketing at Green Man Gaming. Bring it on! All the best Sporting Group. It’s been emotional.”
Turner joined Sporting Group, which rebranded from Sporting Index Group last month, as head of marketing, and then served as marketing director before being promoted to head of Sporting Index in May 2016.
Simon Trim, CEO of Sporting Group, said: “We’d like to thank Paul for all his hard work during his time here and wish him all the best for the future.”
In related news, Sporting Index also announced today it had become the first spread betting firm to have its app live in the Google Play store.
Jamie Adams, product manager at Sporting Index, said: “We’ve been fully focused on improving and developing the technological side of the company, so we’re pleased to be able to expand our reach with the new Android app.
“It’s a tremendously exciting time at Sporting Index and the new Android app is just the start of a number of new innovations in the pipeline.”
