Sportech names interim exec chairman as new CEO
Executive chairman Richard McGuire takes up new role following departure of former chief exec Andrew Gaughan last year

Sportech has appointed interim executive chairman Richard McGuire as its new chief executive officer (CEO), as the sports betting technology provider continues to pivot the business towards the US.
McGuire, who originally joined the Sportech board in 2016, will take up his new role with immediate effect after leading the business since the departure of former CEO Andrew Gaughan last year.
The London-listed firm said the appointment would help support Sportech’s expansion into the US market having already relocated to the company’s US headquarters in Connecticut earlier this year.
As part of the management reshuffle, non-executive director Giles Vardy will take up a new role ast non-executive chairman.
Vardey joined the Sportech board in 2017 and previously had a long career in the financial services industry, including senior roles at Greig Middleton and Fidelity Brokerage Services.
Earlier this year Sportech announced it had acquired UK-based digital gaming technology business LOT.TO Systems Limited.
The firm last month had its exclusive licence to conduct off-track parimutuel betting in Connecticut confirmed via official legislation.
