
Spain reports minimal Q4 GGR growth as revenue hits €315.3m
Player deposits and withdrawals increase with casino vertical representing 54.3% of market revenue

Spain reported a 0.55% year-on-year (YoY) increase in gross gaming revenue (GGR) in Q4, with the figure standing at €315.3m.
Figures released by the country’s regulator, the Directorate General for the Regulation of Gambling (DGOJ), showed a GGR quarter-on-quarter (QoQ) increase of 3.6%.
Breaking revenue down by individual vertical for the quarter, casino had the largest Q4 revenue at €171.3m, representing 54.3% of the market, thanks to slots seeing a 25.9% increase YoY and roulette growing by 15.4% YoY.
Sports betting came in second with €114.7m, 36.4% of the market for the period.
Poker revenue on the quarter stood at €25.4m, 8% of market revenue, while bingo had Q4 revenue of €3.8m or 1.2% of market revenue.
Deposits over the quarter saw a 9.4% rise YoY, coming in at €1.04bn, while withdrawals grew 14% YoY to €734.7m.
Monthly average active game accounts for Q4 landed at 1.27 million, a 6.8% YoY increase and 17.3% QoQ rise. New game accounts decreased 2.3% YoY but did grow 20.1% QoQ.
Marketing expenditure increased 5.3% YoY to €113m for the quarter, comprising €14m on affiliate expenditure, €0.75m on sponsorships, €53m on promotions and €45m on advertising.
