Sorare partners with AC Milan as its official NFT fantasy football game partner
Paris-based firm inks deal with Italian Serie A champions to bring its NFT fantasy football game to the Rossoneri fans

Sorare has signed a new deal with Italian football club AC Milan as the club looks to expand its Web3 and NFT strategy.
Starting at the beginning of the 2022-23 season, AC Milan fans can collect, trade and play with the club’s officially licensed NFT cards on Sorare.
This is a further expansion into the NFT space for the Italian giants, as back in April, AC Milan launched a project with a limited edition 3D NFT of the team’s jersey from South Sudan that was put on sale for charity.
The partnership will see Sorare become one of Il Diavolo’s premium partners.
Sorare has over two million registered users and has partnered with over 260 sports organisations since it was founded in 2018.
As of 21 September, $150m-worth of cards had been traded across 170 countries on the platform since January, while the number of active paying users rocketed 34x between Q2 2021 and Q2 2020.
Sorare has partnered with hundreds of football organisations, including Europe’s top clubs such as Juventus, Bayern Munich, Real Madrid, Inter Milan and Liverpool.

Casper Stylsvig, chief revenue officer at AC Milan, said: “Today marks the beginning of a new journey with an exciting and young brand that is at the forefront of the NFT revolution, and that has been able to merge digital collectables and fantasy sports.
“As an innovative club, this is a sector that we are exploring with a clear strategy in mind, with the goal to offer our over 500 million fans across the globe with exciting additional ways to engage with their club,” he added.
Michael Meltzer, head of business development at Sorare, added: “We’re building a gaming experience fuelled by passion where fans can connect with football and a global community.
“We’re proud to partner with the legendary AC Milan to help them connect with fans globally through the future of football collectables.”
In October 2021, UK Gambling Commission (UKGC) has warned the public that Sorare does not hold a UK gambling licence.
In September of the same year, the Paris-headquartered startup secured $680m in a Series B funding round led by Japanese fintech giant SoftBank, meaning the tech unicorn’s valuation climbed to $4.3bn.
