Smarkets appoints former Gamesys SVP as CTO
Brendan Quinn joins the betting exchange operator after a year's break from the industry

Smarkets has appointed Brendan Quinn as its new chief technology officer (CTO).
Quinn joins the operator after a year’s sabbatical from the industry having previously held roles with Betfair and Gamesys.
Quinn joined Gamesys in May 2020 as senior VP of architecture and left the firm in June 2022.
Prior to this, Quinn founded two companies, Darkchain and Ticketchain. He also held the senior consultant role at HeleCloud between September 2017 and February 2018.
His other role in igaming came at Betfair in 2010 when he was appointed as a software architect, a role he held for just over two years, leaving the operator in February 2013.
Quinn also held a number of positions at tech firms Interim.team, Capgemini and Yahoo.
Following the appointment of Quinn, Smarkets CEO Jason Trost confirmed the company was looking to expand its tech capabilities.
The American noted he was also on the hunt for engineering team leads as the company looks to push forward after a series of cost-cutting measures last year.
