Sky confirms OpenWager as social casino partner
Leeds-based operator partners B2B social casino provider OpenWager to launch Sky Hollywood Slots on iOS and Android

Sky Betting and Gaming completed the launch of its first social casino product Sky Hollywood Slots yesterday (Wednesday) afternoon and confirmed B2B social casino supplier OpenWager as its partner for the venture.
eGaming Review yesterday revealed Sky was plotting its first push into the social casino space and the operator officially launched the mobile product on iOS and Android just hours later.
Sky Hollywood Slots is powered by OpenWager’s customisable social casino platform and features free-to-play 3D slots games including Kitty Mansion, Hollywood Treasures and Neon Valley.
The Hollywood-themed storyline sees players progress through the game to become movie stars and also includes a number of social features such as social media account integration, in-app private messaging and user-to-user gifting.
“Social casino has grown significantly in recent years and presents an exciting space for us to explore, applying the expertise we have from real money gaming, and aligning this with social best practices and unique features not seen in other titles,” Bruce Bale, head of social games at Sky Betting and Gaming, said.
“OpenWager are a fantastic partner for us, bringing years of experience in social gaming, and this joint offering perfectly complements our current gaming portfolio and provides a platform to engage with new customers, particularly in Western Europe, the United States, Canada, and Asia,” he added.
San Francisco-headquartered OpenWager was founded in 2013 and provides a number of B2B social casino services with partners including media company USA TODAY and Austrian real-money operator win2day.
CEO John Cahill said he was confident that Sky Hollywood Slots would find success with social casino players. “Together we are committed to raising the bar on social casino entertainment and staying ahead of the game,” he said.
“Sky Hollywood Slots presents an entirely different type of experience for Sky’s existing customers and the new generation of players alike,” Cahill added.
