Sky Betting & Gaming receives Glassdoor senior leadership recognition
Leeds-based operator secures top-25 spot just six months after reaching 29th in employer review site’s Employee Choice ranking

Sky Betting & Gaming (SBG) has been named among the top 25 UK companies for senior leadership by workplace review site Glassdoor.
Following up its 29th spot in Glassdoor’s Employee Choice ranking in January, the latest list sees the Flutter-owned firm feature in 17th place on the list from positive feedback pertaining to the company’s leadership teams.
SBG achieved a senior leadership rating of 4.4 out of five, which is considerably higher than the average 3.36 rating across the 2.2 million employers reviewed on the site.
Those on the Top UK Companies for Senior Leadership list are ranked based on the anonymous feedback of employees submitted to the site.
The ranking was compiled from more than 213,000 senior leadership ratings on Glassdoor from UK-based full- and part-time employees between 20 April 2021 and 19 April 2022. It only covered companies with at least 1,000 global employees.
Steve Birch, CEO of SBG, said: “I am delighted to see our senior leaders at Sky Betting & Gaming being recognised on Glassdoor for their support to our colleagues and their wellbeing throughout the pandemic.
“Promoting a dynamic and inclusive workplace is core to Flutter’s Work Better strategy for colleagues, a key pillar of our Positive Impact Plan, and something that is highly valued across the Flutter group, including the UK and Ireland division.“I’d like to thank everyone at Sky Betting & Gaming for their hard work and commitment towards making it a great place to work.”
Veterinary healthcare provider VetPartners Limited was the number one company (4.6 rating), with advertising and PR company GTB second (4.6) and tech company ServiceNow (4.5) rounding off the top three.
A total of 13 different industries featured on the list, with tech the most heavily represented sector (nine companies).
Glassdoor pointed to the effect that Covid-19 has had on the working lives of most people and how strong management has guided employees into a new way of working.
Lauren Thomas, Glassdoor EMEA economist, said: “Covid-19 tore up the traditional rules of management, and it is the companies that embraced the changes this offered and focused on employee experience that are recognised on Glassdoor’s Top UK Companies for Senior Leadership list.”
Glassdoor pointed out that it was harder to find leading companies than bad, stating that employees are far more likely to call out bad management.
Over 13% of management feedback on their site was negative compared to just over 6.3% positive. Meanwhile, 44% of employee reviews with low ratings for senior leadership mention ‘management’.
SBG is making a habit of featuring on Glassdoor’s lists, with Birch the only igaming chief exec to make it onto 2021’s CEO top 50 in June of last year.
