Sky Betting & Gaming full-year revenues climb 38%
Leeds-headquartered firm’s 2016-17 revenues rise to £516m as EBITDA also increases 38% YoY to £146m

Sky Betting & Gaming (SB&G) today reported a 38% year-on-year rise in full-year revenues and profit, driven by strong double-digit growth across all key areas of the business.
The Leeds-headquartered operator recorded revenues of £516m for the 12 months ended 30 June 2017, up from £374m in 2015-16, while EBITDA soared 38% from £105m to £146m.
Sports betting was SB&G’s fastest-growing segment, increasing 46% year-on-year to £314m, although Sky Gaming also recorded solid growth with revenues increasing 27% to £202m.
More than 80% of total revenues came from mobile devices.
Meanwhile, SB&G today also revealed the operator’s total number of customers increased 31% to 2.6 million.
SB&G chief executive, Richard Flint, attributed the operator’s strong performance in the 12-month period largely to the firm’s continued investment in product and technology.
“We delivered innovative and market-leading products during the year, including an in-app RequestABet builder, real time promotions, crowd boosted accumulators, and personalised programmatic marketing,” he said.
Flint added: “Protecting customers from harm, and providing a safe betting and gaming environment is critical to our success, and we continue to invest in more people and better processes to identify and protect vulnerable customers.
“We enter our 2017/18 financial year with strong momentum, and we will maintain our focus on investment in Yorkshire, delivering innovative and quality products and offers to our customers, leaving us confident that we can deliver further growth.”

Sky Betting & Gaming collected four awards, including Sports Betting Operator, at this year’s EGR Operator Awards
The 2016-17 financial period was marked by the operator’s first expansion beyond the UK market following the launch of Sky Bet Italia in late 2016, which was described by Flint as a “landmark” moment.
Last month, SB&G also took home four awards at the EGR Operator Awards 2017 at London’s Grosvenor, winning in headline categories including Sports Betting Operator and Mobile Operator.
