Six gambling firms named in TIME's World Best Companies 2023
MGM Resorts, Caesars Entertainment, Wynn Resorts, Las Vegas Sands, Flutter Entertainment and PENN Entertainment make inaugural list

Six gambling companies have been named in TIME’s best 750 companies in the world for 2023.
MGM Resorts, Caesars Entertainment, Wynn Resorts, Las Vegas Sands, Flutter Entertainment and PENN Entertainment were the only industry firms to make the extensive list.
The inaugural rankings, which were collated in partnership with data and business intelligence platform Statista, were based on three key criteria: employee satisfaction, revenue growth and sustainability practices.
Employee satisfaction was measured using data collected from around 150,000 participants in 58 countries, taking in aspects such as working conditions, salaries and equality.
Revenue growth, based on data from Statista, meant companies had to generate revenue of at least $100m in 2022 and had demonstrated positive revenue growth over the last three years.
Finally, sustainability was marked against standardised ESG data points in Statista’s database including carbon emissions, board gender diversity and firms’ corporate social responsibility strategies.
MGM Resorts was the highest-ranking gambling firm in the list, finishing in 218th place, with an overall score of 85.01.
Caesars Entertainment was the second-highest ranking with a score of 83.97, resulting in a 277th place finish, while Wynn Resorts filled out the podium (430th) with a score of 81.82.
Las Vegas Sands landed in 483rd place with a score of 80.99 while the only non-US-based gambling company, Flutter, ended up in 597th with a score of 78.91.
PENN Entertainment snuck into the list with a 716th place finish and an overall score of 75.84.
TIME named Microsoft as the world’s best company with an overall score of 96.46, while Apple (96.36) and Google parent company Alphabet (95.18) completed the top three.
