Sisal awarded contract for Tunisian gambling market
Italian firm expands its international presence after securing tender from country’s sports betting administration

Sisal has been awarded the tender to offer sports betting, number games and instant lotteries in Tunisia.
The Flutter Entertainment-owned operator was awarded the contract for the management of gaming in Tunisia by Promosport, the country’s sports betting administration.
Over the next 10 years, Sisal will manage and develop an extensive product portfolio, including sports betting, number games, instant lotteries and online games.
Sisal’s services will be available across retail point of sales and online in the North African nation.
Securing the tender in Tunisia marks yet another notch on the Italian firm’s international expansion roadmap.
In January 2019 the group launched its lottery licence in Morocco followed by an online licence in Spain in July 2020.
Sisal also secured the lotteries management licence in Turkey in August 2020.
Flutter completed the £1.62bn acquisition of Sisal in August to bolster its International arm.
CEO Peter Jackson’s former chief of staff Portia Walker will lead the integration of Sisal and support Sisal CEO Francesco Durante and his senior team during the process.
Flutter revealed Sisal had recorded year-on-year (YoY) revenue growth of 58% to £402m, while EBITDA jumped 51% to £120m for the first six months of 2022.
Marco Caccavale, Sisal MD, highlighted that securing the tender in Tunisia was a major milestone for the Italian firm.
“Winning the tender in Tunisia is a significant achievement for Sisal,” the MD said.
“Not only does it showcase our lottery expertise and leadership at a local and international level, it demonstrates execution against our strategic ambition to enter into regions which have considerable growth opportunities and development prospects in the future,” Caccavale added.
