SharedPlay bolsters executive team with hire of new COO
Jacqui Gatt reunited with Karolina Pelc at disruptive gaming start-up after the duo worked alongside each other at SharedPlay backer LeoVegas

SharedPlay has today strengthened its senior leadership team with the appointment of former Casumo director of gaming Jacqui Gatt as its new chief operating officer (COO).
SharedPlay was founded this year by Gatt’s former colleague Karolina Pelc with the intention to become the gaming industry’s first B2B solution for online streaming in multiplayer mode.
Gatt left her most recent gaming industry position at Casumo in May 2021. Prior to that, she worked for William Hill International subsidiary Mr Green as head of gaming.
She worked alongside Pelc at LeoVegas, where she held the head of live casino role between May 2016 and February 2018. Pelc was the Stockholm-listed operator’s casino director during this period.
SharedPlay is, in fact, a LeoVegas-backed start-up. The duo’s former employer has invested €1.1m (£940k) in the start-up for a 25% stake via its LeoVentures subsidiary.
“It’s a proud moment to see Jacqui join the team at SharedPlay as a COO,” said Pelc, who is a vocal ambassador for gender diversity within the online gambling industry.
“With vast experience, an immaculate reputation and a versatile skillset, she would be an asset to every company, but I truly believe we can appeal to her true passion for product and operations.”

SharedPlay is seeking to take the example of multi-player online entertainment consumption and replicate that experience for the gambling industry.
Innovation in this space was accelerated during the Covid-19 pandemic and has resulted in new interactive product launches from tech giants including Netflix and Disney.
Gatt said: “Looking at social, music and video streaming entertainment apps, the ‘shared experience’ concept is bang on trend and our goal is to deliver a similar product for online casinos.”
