Scout Gaming secures Malta licence for fixed-odds betting
Stockholm-headquartered provider to launch complement to its fantasy sports products in H2 2019
Scout Gaming has announced plans to launch a player prop betting offering in the second half of this year after securing a Malta betting licence this week.
The provider previously operated its DFS games via a Type 4 Malta licence which permits for skill games but has now secured a Type 2 licence for fixed odds betting.
Scout said it aimed to offer a number of new betting products to operator partners by H2 including player matchup bets and combined player points totals, akin to the prop offerings of Digital Sports Tech.
“Our underlying pricing of the players is the basis for additional products that are odds-related,” said Scout Gaming’s CEO, Andreas Ternström.
“We already have a number of existing customers who have shown an interest in these and one of the products is already launched in the Indian market [on Starpick.in].”
Scout CFO Billy Degerfeldt said the betting products would be a complement to the firm’s standard fantasy sports offering.
”Going forward we will continue to innovate sports betting with more products relating to the individual player performance. For example we are currently conducting some internal fine-tuning of the first of a kind in-play fantasy, where you manage your team in real-time watching the game.
“We are also in an early phase of producing a live player odds sportsbook, were you will be able to place player oriented bets in real time.
Degerfeldt added: ”All in all our products are heavily dependent on our in-house player pricing and modeling of xFP (expected fantasy points). We currently have the broadest offering in the market in terms of sports and will expand it even further.”
Scout currently provides DFS products to Dafabet, Betsson, ComeOn and Paf.
