Scientific Games promotes from within for new lottery systems VP
Patrick Homm takes on new role with his second promotion in less than 12 months as he is tasked with shaping strategy for the company’s lottery systems technology

Scientific Games has appointed Patrick Homm as the company’s new vice-president of systems engineering after almost three years with the supplier.
His primary focus in the new role will be helping to scale up the company’s international lottery systems technology operations.
Homm initially joined the supplier as director of software development in January 2022, before moving to the role of vice-president of software engineering in January this year.
During that time, he has managed “multiple high-impact retail and ilottery projects” for Scientific Games as its portfolio of clients expanded to 80 lotteries worldwide.
Before joining the business, Homm spent eight years at Admiral Group from October 2013 to December 2021.
Initially joining as a software developer, he worked in various positions, including head of development and head of portal engineering.
Scientific Games cited Homm’s “hands-on approach, innovative mindset and ability to foster collaboration across teams” as a few of the reasons why he was handed the promotion.
Homm will continue to be based out of Scientific Games’ Vienna hub in Austria.
Michael Conforti, Scientific Games president of international, said: “Patrick’s appointment is a pivotal step in further strengthening our International Systems team.
“His deep expertise, visionary leadership and commitment to fostering innovation will help us achieve our strategic goals as we continue to revolutionise omnichannel lottery systems technology for the next generation of lottery retailers and players.”
Homm’s promotion represents Scientific Games’ latest appointment in its lottery operations after the company hired Gina Smith as vice-president of lottery enterprise systems products in July.
The firm also named Amy Steinman as its new chief HR officer in June, in addition to appointing Beth Bresnahan as its first chief communications and brand officer in May.
