Scientific Games appoints new digital president and chief innovation officer
Matt Lynch named new president of digital while Steve Beason takes on the chief innovation officer role after two years with the company

Scientific Games has appointed Matt Lynch as its new president of digital, in addition to naming Steve Beason as its new CIO in a dual addition to its top team.
Lynch most recently worked for ecommerce tech start-up Firework, where he served as head of D2C from February 2022 to January 2024.
Prior to that, he spent two years at grocery firm Albertsons Companies, working as senior vice-president of digital shopping experience from March 2020 to November 2020 and as senior vice-president of meals strategy from November 2020 to February 2022.
He was also president and COO of Samsung’s SmartThings arm from June 2017 to September 2019 and spent four years at cybersecurity giant Symantec from May 2013 to June 2017.
However, Lynch spent the bulk of his career at Amazon, working there as a general manager for more than six years between November 2005 and January 2012.
Scientific Games CEO Pat McHugh said: “The addition of an executive with Matt’s credentials continues Scientific Games’ investment in scaling our business to meet our growth plans and innovation roadmaps.
“Matt has an impressive track record in scaling digital businesses. In addition to his strong product orientation, he has broad business acumen and a reputation for being a strategic, quant-based big thinker.
“He brings a vision to his work and creates strong organisational cultures. We look forward to the many talents Matt will add to our highly experienced global digital teams.”
In addition to Lynch, Scientific Games also announced Beason’s promotion to CIO.
The exec steps into his C-level brief having rejoined the company in June 2022 as president of digital and sports betting.
His previous spell with Scientific Games came between August 2005 and November 2016, when he was both enterprise chief technology officer and CIO.
Beason also held the group chief technology officer role at Inspired Entertainment from May 2019 to May 2022.
He will be tasked with spearheading Scientific Games’ technological advancements worldwide, with a focus on AI and cloud innovation.
McHugh added: “Thanks to the amazing work of our existing teams, our digital business is expanding rapidly with active ilottery launches around the world.
“Steve’s focus on technical innovation will continue to advance our industry-leading platforms to meet lotteries’ evolving needs into the future.”
The moves represent the latest appointments at Scientific Games after it last week appointed Patrick Homm as its new vice-president of systems engineering.
