Scientific Games agrees SportCast acquisition
SG Digital CEO Jordan Levin hails “great bolt-on” as supplier heavyweight inks deal to absorb BetBuilder parent company

Scientific Games has agreed a deal to acquire SportCast, the company behind the BetBuilder product which allows users to create in-game multiples.
Financial terms of the deal have not been disclosed by either party.
Speaking about the deal, SG Digital CEO Jordan Levin cited the supplier’s long-standing relationship with SportCast, which the firm has included in solutions provided to SG Digital customers.
“The more time we spent with them, the more we really liked them, and saw the cultural alignments and the power that their solutions can bring to ours,” Levin told EGR.
“When you look at SG Digital and our OpenSports offerings, its very modular, very flexible and spans from the platform technology we operate to our sports content business.
“This is a great bolt-on to our existing DonBest pricing feed that we already have and offer to operators, this is just a natural add on to that,” Levin explained.
“There are many customers that use their own in-house technology and plenty that use ours, and this is another way for us to drive value to our customers,” Levin added.
The SG Digital CEO said there are numerous benefits from taking the firm’s existing relationship one step further and acquiring the SportCast business.
“I don’t even know where to pick from. Honestly, BetBuilder is the foundation and I think it is all the sort of options that flow from that,” Levin explained.
“It’s further flexing the in-place solutions, things like the player props, which we’re really excited about and doing the cross-event parlays. The way they do that is very differentiated. I wouldn’t know where to begin, I’m excited about all of them, like a kid in a candy store,” he added.
EGR can reveal SportCast’s current management team will remain within the business following the deal’s completion and that no immediate changes to the business structure will be made.
“It’s important because they are the brains behind these products,” Levin explained.
“They are the leadership of this team and, most importantly, they want to be a part of it. Based on my experience of these sorts of deals, individuals have got to have the passion and want to continue to drive the business.
“These guys haven’t written their final act yet and they see there’s a lot more they can get done, and I think SG Digital is a great way to do it,” he added.
SportCast’s technology is capable of processing over 12,000 bets per second across major global sports including American football, baseball, soccer, basketball, ice hockey and tennis.
Founded in 2013, SportCast uses proprietary cloud-based technology and integrated machine learning models aiming to deliver rapid response times.
Current SportCast clients include BetMGM, PointsBet, Entain, 888, Sky Bet and Betsson.
