SB22 Focus Mode aims to simplify UX with tile-based interface
Company behind Apple Watch sports betting app reveals gamified feature to boil wagering down to basics

SB22 has launched a new simplified sports betting UX dubbed ‘Focus Mode’ with a USP of “democratising live sports betting”, according to the tech firm.
The patented Focus Mode will be available across mobile, as well as Apple Watch, Apple TV, retail kiosks and the new Apple Vision Pro VR headset.
In essence, Focus Mode will bring up a game, for example the Kansas City Chiefs versus the Philadelphia Eagles, and populate the screen with tiles featuring betting options.
These options will include prop bets, under/overs for the game, as well as results, moneylines and spreads in the US.
Focus Mode will also allow players to switch between games, matches and competitions with a swipe feature, while micro-betting has also been made available.
Users will be able to set their stake via a toggle option at the bottom of the screen, with potential payouts updated in real time following the stake value.
Bets are placed by holding down a tile for a matter of seconds, while tapping each tile will bring up additional information.
SB22 confirmed that Focus Mode can also be applied to DFS alongside real-money gaming capabilities.
Vladimir Jovanovic, SB22 COO, said the industry had been “stuck in the dark ages for too long” and that Focus Mode would simplify the user experience.
He said: “The current interface available for betting is overcomplicated and difficult to use. With Focus Mode, we have created a new way to make your bets.
“It’s simple, user-friendly and, most importantly, clear to use. We don’t want users to feel confused or overwhelmed when placing a bet but instead want it to be an enjoyable experience that heightens their live sports experience.
“We are excited to showcase how Focus Mode can change the way businesses approach sports betting,” Jovanovic added.
In 2022, SB22 revealed its Apple Watch sports betting app, AW22, while last year the Dallas-headquartered firm welcomed former FanDuel VP Keith Wall as a strategic advisor.
