Rightlander looks to counter stricter regulation with new Telegram tool
Affiliate marketing compliance specialist adds new functionality to monitor the instant messaging service for regulation breaches

Rightlander.com has launched a new monitoring tool to scrutinise affiliate marketing on the Telegram instant messaging platform.
The affiliate marketing compliance firm suggested the development of the app had been initiated due to an increase in affiliate promotion on the cloud-based service.
As part of a fully automated process focusing on both public and closed Telegram channels, the tool will notify operators when marketing partners mention them and link to the brand.
In addition, Telegram will also provide detection of text, affiliate links and emojis.
All matching Telegrams are made available to Rightlander users via a compliance workbench, allowing operators to analyse and remedy them quickly.
The new Telegram-based service is currently available in Brazilian, Colombian, Spanish, Italian, and Romanian markets and can be configured for additional countries when required.
Discussing the need for the monitoring tool when scrutinising online content, Rightlander founder Ian Sims said: “Affiliates have been getting ever more resourceful as they deal with stricter regulation and the consolidation of larger affiliates through M&A.
“One of the key regulatory requirements placed on operators is to know their sources of traffic and this is ultimately why so many top operators use Rightlander,” he added.
The Rightlander software has been popular within the igaming industry and most recently signed up with Polish heavyweights STS.
