RGA chief Clive Hawkswood to step down
Hawkswood is likely to depart in early 2019 after appointing his successor later this year

Clive Hawkswood has decided to leave his role as chief executive of the Remote Gambling Association (RGA), EGR Intel understands.
Hawkswood has been CEO of the RGA for the last 14 years but is expected to step down in 2019 after helping to appoint his successor.
Hawkswood told a board meeting last week that he felt “the time was right to move on”, but will remain at the RGA until “at least the end of the year” and does not have an official leaving date.

“We’re just having a conversation at the moment about what background we are looking for [in a successor],” Hawkswood told EGR Intel.
“We have a meeting in a few weeks to discuss whether we put an advert in the paper or whether there are some people with an industry background that we might approach.”
Hawkswood said the RGA is prepared to explore all available options in regards to hiring a new CEO but that someone with a working understanding and familiarity of the industry would be beneficial.
He added: “Anyone that has spent time in our industry knows it is quite different to any other type of business as you have to understand all the political, cultural and media impacts.”
