
Report: Tipster offices in Germany, Malta and Croatia raided by 1,000 police officers
German media report major sting on sports betting firm involving riot police and criminal investigation officers


Tipster has had its offices raided by almost 1,000 state police officers as part of an investigation into suspected illegal gambling and the formation of a criminal organisation.
According to German daily tabloid newspaper Bild, officers from the North Rhine-Westphalia riot police and criminal investigation department carried out the raid today.
Officers moved in on locations associated with Tipster in Bremen, Berlin, Cologne, Saxony, Bavaria in Germany, as well as locations in Malta and Croatia.
Bild also reported that there are six arrest warrants against members of Tipster’s senior management.
Speaking to Bild, chief inspector Markus Niesczery said: “The six main male suspects aged between [age] 34 and 60 were arrested in Cologne and Brühl, among other places.”
The police are reported to be looking for evidence and to secure Tipster assets as part of the raid.
Tipster, which was founded in 2010, has held a Malta Gaming Authority (MGA) licence since December 2011 and was approved as a sports betting operator in Germany in December 2022.
According to its website, Tipster employs more than 200 people throughout Europe.
