Rank Interactive moves for Entain head as CFO
Sam Allanson to link up with London-listed firm later this year as operator confirms successor to Janice Duncan

Rank Group has appointed Entain head Sam Allanson as its new chief financial officer (CFO) for its Rank Interactive division.
Allanson will join the operator later this year after more than five years as Entain’s head of commercial finance.
He previously served as commercial financial director at Ladbrokes, prior to the Ladbrokes/Coral merger and subsequent acquisition by GVC.
The finance head has also spent time with broadcaster Sky and retail firm Kingfisher during his career.
Allanson’s appointment follows that of former William Hill head Andrew Peat as Rank Interactive managing director. Peat will likewise join the firm later this year.
Allanson will replace Janice Duncan as Rank Interactive CFO after she departed the firm to join Casumo’s new-look C-suite as CFO.
Allanson will be based in Gibraltar and report into Rank Group CFO Richard Harris.
Speaking on his appointment, Allanson said: “Rank Interactive is one of the most exciting places to be right now in the betting and gaming industry, as the business continues to grow and play a larger part in the success of the overall group.
“Drawing from my previous experience in the sector, I look forward to contributing to Rank Interactive’s ongoing success and to support the finance team in delivering the ambitious plans that Rank has for its digital growth. I am excited to be part of a senior management team with such a clear vision for growth.”
Harris added: “[Sam’s] experience in consumer-facing businesses, particularly in betting and gaming, will be extremely valuable as we continue to implement our strategy. Building our financial capabilities across the group is an important cornerstone of Rank’s ambitions to excite and entertain our customers, a vision Sam shares with us.”
