Rank Group promotes former Hills head to become COO
Jon Martin to take up newly created position after four years with the London-listed firm across its digital arm

Rank Group has promoted manging director (MD) of digital Jon Martin to become the group’s first chief operating officer (COO).
Martin joined the Maidenhead-based company in January 2019 as strategy and finance director for Rank’s online division, Rank Interactive.
In February 2020, he added the remit of international MD to his role before being named Rank Interactive MD in June 2021.
Martin will make a return to the UK for the newly created position after having been based in Gibraltar up until this point.
In joining the C-suite, Martin will be responsible for the development and delivery of Rank’s cross-channel customer experience for the Mecca and Grosvenor brands.
He will also retain accountability for the strategy and performance of Rank Interactive.
Rank has initiated a formal search for Martin’s replacement but did not detail a timeline on when it expects the new MD would be in situ.
Speaking on his promotion, Martin said: “I am excited about the prospect of delivering the next stage of Rank’s growth, focusing on a more seamless brand experience between our venues and digital offerings, whilst continuing to oversee our upward digital trajectory.
“A key priority will be working more closely with our venues’ management teams, whilst utilising our proprietary technology to deliver a more compelling customer experience for existing and new cross-channel customers,” he added.
John O’Reilly, Rank Group CEO, commented: “I am delighted that Jon will take on a broader role here at Rank, testament to the hard work and delivery of our continued success across the digital gaming market. I have no doubt that Jon taking on these broader responsibilities will benefit Rank immensely.”
