Rank Group hires ex-William Hill exec Phil Moyes as CIO
Hills’ former CIO and CTO replaces Keith Woodcock who leaves the Mecca Bingo-owner after more than four years
Rank Group has appointed former William Hill exec Phil Moyes as the Mecca Bingo-owner’s new group chief information officer (CIO), EGR Intel has learned.
Moyes, who officially started his new role on 1 February, replaces Rank’s outgoing group CIO Keith Woodcock who recently left the operator after more than four years at the company.
Moyes previously spent more than a decade at William Hill, holding a number of senior roles including group programme director, Online chief technology officer and CIO.
Rank’s outgoing CIO Keith Woodcock said on LinkedIn: “After 4 and a half enjoyable years at the Rank Group working with an incredible team the time has come to move on.
He added: “I will miss the excitement of delivering key strategies such as migrating to the public cloud, migrating our digital platform in less than 15 months and who can forget the move into Rank’s new home.
“I won’t miss the 5:30am starts! So thank you everyone for the trip, it’s been a blast.”
The appointment of a new CIO comes after Rank recently reported a 16% increase in digital revenues to £60.6m for the first half of the 2018 fiscal year, with particularly strong growth from its core Grosvenor Casinos brand.
Digital operating profit was also up 56% to £11.4m, with CEO Henry Birch attributing the profit increase to improved marketing efficiency.
Rank also last week announced it had adopted a much stricter oversight of its affiliate programme to ensure regulatory compliance is being met.
