Raketech appoints former Catena Media exec as COO
Oscar Karlsten joined the affiliate on 1 May and will oversee the group’s central operations

Raketech has confirmed Oscar Karlsten as its new chief operating officer (COO), ending a four-year tenure at rival affiliate Catena Media.
Karlsten most recently served as chief information officer for the Malta-based heavyweight affiliate, previously serving as chief product officer. He has also worked for search giant Google and Toca Boca as well as serving as CEO for three years at Aventime Group.
In his new role, Karlsten will be responsible for central operations, product development and investments, while also focusing on creative content, SEO and UX.
Karlsten will report directly to Raketech CEO Oskar Mühlbach who claimed his senior leadership team was finally complete following the appointment.
Mühlbach said: “Oscar’s extensive experience within the digital marketing industry brings many valuable insights and expertise to Raketech. With him onboard, we have now secured the last piece of the management puzzle and I am very much looking forward to seeing him accelerate our transformation from affiliation to the igaming performance marketing partner.”
Incoming Raketech COO Oscar Karlsten said he was incredibly excited to be joining Raketech during this challenging time for the business.
“There’s such a positive buzz in the company and after meeting all of the people I can’t wait to add my experience into the mix,” said Karlsten.
“With the team and strategy we have in place – I truly believe we will reshape performance marketing as we’ve seen it,” he concluded.
Raketech profits have decreased by 77% year-on-year during Q1, with higher operating costs affecting the company this year.
