RAIG opens to new members following audit publication

Affiliate trade body Responsible Affiliates in Gambling (RAIG) is ready to accept new members having published the details of its audit process, the group has said.
The audit will assess affiliates’ approach to compliance, social media, direct marketing and third-party media-buying arrangements.
RAIG chairman Clive Hawkswood said the group now felt much more comfortable about encouraging other affiliates to join RAIG because it could open about what was required.
“Against this background we are now actively encouraging other affiliates to apply for membership and expect to make further announcements on that front very shortly,” he added.
The auditing process will be repeated annually, while the initial audit must be completed within three months of being granted membership status.
The personnel required on site for the audit process include head of acquisition, head of marketing, head of social, head of compliance, head of HR and head of PPC or SEO.

Hawkswood said: “With the pilot successfully completed and with the audit arrangements now in place, we can concentrate on improving standards within the affiliate sector so that it plays its part, and is seen as doing so, in creating a safer gambling environment for consumers.”
Other parts of the RAIG work programme include suppressing marketing for self-excluded consumers, training staff and improving co-ordination with gambling operators.
Better Collective, Racing Post and Oddschecker are the trade body’s founding members.
