Prophet Exchange adds technical muscle ahead of New Jersey launch
Peer-to-peer betting site recruits new product and software engineering directors

Prophet Exchange has begun preparations for its launch in New Jersey by augmenting its product and engineering departments with two key directorial hires.
The peer-to-peer betting site has confirmed the hire of Matt Stolarz as its director of technical product, and Zhifeng Shi as its director of software engineering.
A 10-year veteran of the industry, Stolarz most recently served as a senior software engineer for Caesars Entertainment, having previously served as a senior software engineer for William Hill prior to its acquisition by the US casino heavyweight.
In his role with Hills, Stolarz formed part of the technical team responsible for launching the Hills sportsbook in New Jersey, something which parallels with his new position at Prophet Exchange.
Speaking about his new role, Stolarz said he was “beyond excited” to link up with the peer-to-peer betting site.
“I am also looking forward to working alongside a brilliant and talented team of fellow sports betting industry experts. You couldn’t dream up a better product or a better team to come into,” he added.
Shi served as a software engineer for real estate technology company Compass, where he was responsible for the building of an end-to-end transaction management platform from scratch within eight months of joining.
Elsewhere, Prophet Exchange has hired former NBC Football Night producer and researcher Casey Halpern as its new director of social media and content.
Halpern worked on NBC’s Football Night In America for the past five NFL seasons, receiving nominations for multiple Emmy awards.
He most recently served as a social media manager for Action Network, and has previous experience working as a social media strategist for Flutter’s FoxBet brand.
Addressing his new role, Halpern said: “This is an incredible opportunity to help scale an important and innovative product that will be the first of its kind in the US.
“I firmly believe that Prophet Exchange will solve a plethora of problems that everyday sports bettors currently face. I am looking forward to the exciting, yet challenging times ahead as we build a best-in-class sports betting exchange,” Halpern added.
