PPB partners with two RG start-ups after innovation competition
AI behavioural specialist Mindway and new RG application Pamble are chosen as winners of PPB’s first Alpha Hub content in Romania
Paddy Power Betfair (PPB) has partnered with two problem gambling tech start-ups following the first edition of its Alpha Hub innovation competition established in November 2018.
The first is a Danish company dubbed Mindway AI that is exploring the use of AI in detecting problem gambling behaviours
The other partner is Romanian company Pamble, which developed the first companion application for approaching problem behaviours ad was also chosen by PPB to establish an “exploratory partnership”.
Pamble CEO Georgina Lupu Florian said: “Developing a strategy together with Paddy Power Betfair leaders has helped me better understand both responsible gambling and how to create corporate partnerships that are invaluable for Pamble development.”
Programme lead at PPB Rob Smith said: “The first edition of Alpha Hub has demonstrated the potential of Paddy Power Betfair’s collaboration with start-ups that can complement our own products, technologies, and innovation efforts.
“We are very interested in expanding this process in the future,” Smith said.
Paddy Power Betfair, which today reported a 5% increase in online revenues, said RG targets were now part of bonus packages for key executives.
The Alpha Hub programme ran from November to December of last year and saw over 200 start-ups from 54 countries participate.
Alpha Hub was launched in partnership with consultants Risky Business Ventures and local tech network and conference producers Techsylvania.
