PPB lets staff bet on Paddy Power to improve feedback loop
Operator will allow employees to bet via its apps to get a better understanding of its products

Paddy Power Betfair (PPB) employees will be able to open and use Paddy Power accounts to help them gain a better understanding of the product.
Staff will be limited to depositing €500 a month and can only win up to €250,000, compared to €1m for standard customers.
The trading team will remain restricted from betting with PPB, as will staff based in Romania. Other employees will be banned from betting while at work.
Staff have always been allowed to bet on Betfair, but PPB standardised the policy across both brands.
“Where possible, we want all staff to understand the products we are offering to customers, so that we get feedback and improve the service we provide,” a PPB spokesperson told EGR.
“We launched a new Paddy Power site at the start of this year following the technology integration, so it doubly important we make sure we have more eyes on it day-to-day.
Elsewhere, PPB has extended its partnership with SportCaller to continue offering free-to-play game Beat The Drop, which was first launched ahead of the World Cup.
The deal comes with a new promotion offering players 30 days of free games and a starting pot of £1000.
Stephen McMeel, acquisition & emerging products manager at PPB, said: “Beat The Drop was an instant hit with our customers.
“Discernible spikes in activity levels and retention have already followed, with Beat The Drop’s simple format and engaging gameplay giving players an interest in all their preferred matches alongside the chance to win £1m.”
