PokerStars teams up with Women Who Code
Flutter Entertainment-owned operator pledges to engage female poker players by shining a light on women in poker and the wider technology industry

PokerStars has partnered with global community Women Who Code to improve female representation and diversity and encourage women to pursue a career within the vertical.
Women Who Code is dedicated to inspiring women to excel in the technology industry by supporting strategic and impactful diversity and inclusion programmes to create leadership pathways.
As a new community partner, PokerStars will be included in Women Who Code newsletters, social media updates, blog posts and events.
Women Who Code is a non-profit group that boasts nearly 300,000 members, 50% of which are engineers.
The organisation’s website says: “We envision a world where women are proportionally represented as technical leaders, executives, founders, VCs, board members and software engineers.”
PokerStars associate director of PR Rebecca McAdam Willets said the business is committed to growing poker by striving to reach and engage new players from all walks of life.
This includes engaging female poker players by shining a light on women in poker and in the industry through various activities, including unique content and special giveaways.
“We are proud to officially become the first gambling partner of Women Who Code and recognise the same values and desire to inspire women to excel in their technology careers,” said McAdam Willets.
“At PokerStars, we are allies to all the amazing women in the industry. Bet on yourself, join our team and make your next chapter the best one yet,” she added.
Earlier this year, to coincide with International Women’s Day, PokerStars launched Our Voices, a female insights community for women in poker.
