PokerStars launches mobile Home Games for first time ever
Vertical’s market leader integrates new game format and extends late registration period in product update

PokerStars has introduced its Home Games feature on mobile for the first time following a surge in interest in the platform during the Covid-19 lockdown.
The Home Games feature, which allows users to create private poker clubs with family and friends, has seen more than 300,000 new games set up in the last three months, according to the operator.
The move to introduce mobile capabilities was driven by user feedback. It will initially launch on Android before being integrated with iOS applications.
The Flutter-owned online cardroom has also added several new game options for Home Games tournaments, including Showtime Hold’em and Split Hold’em, as well as bolting on new simplified game speeds and starting stacks.
Late registration has also been extended from 10 minutes at the start of the game to the first six levels of all tournaments to afford more flexibility to players.
PokerStars’ Stephen Bartley said: “This [mobile Home Games] has been our priority, and we’re delighted to say this is now available. In fact, it’s probably the biggest of all the changes we’ve made.
“The plan, based on your feedback, was to improve the overall Home Games playing experience, and give regular players, and new players, a place to sit with friends and enjoy the game in whatever format they want,” he added.
