PointsBet signs Paige Spiranac amid major golf betting investment
Social media influencer to lead on-air golf coverage while securing an equity stake in sportsbook operator

PointsBet has recruited leading golf media personality Paige Spiranac as its global lead on-air talent and brand ambassador.
Spiranac will also become a significant PointsBet shareholder, taking up an equity stake in the operator as part of the partnership.
The news comes as PointsBet establishes a golf betting companion show, which it will present in conjunction with media partner NBC Sports and the PGA Tour.
The show will be dubbed NBC Sports Edge BetCast and will premiere on 4 February via its streaming platform Peacock Premium, alongside the broadcaster’s telecasts of the Waste Management Phoenix Open on the GOLF Channel.
“Paige is known for her work ethic and ability to stand out in a sea of sameness, which very much embodies the DNA of PointsBet and our mandate to deliver the fastest and most differentiated way to wager in the legal sports betting market,” PointsBet CEO Johnny Aitken said.
“We will look to deeply integrate Paige across our portfolio of brand channels, including linear and digital content, whilst unlocking unique ways to weave PointsBet into her social media universe as she strives to conquer sports betting and introduce it to her audience,” he added.
Spiranac’s social media presence grew significantly in 2020, amassing over 100 million unique video views across YouTube, Facebook and Instagram.
“I believe that sports betting is central to how fans will engage and consume live sports moving forward,” said Spiranac.
“I love connecting with my community on social media and I know this category will be a fun, new way to get my audience more involved with not only golf, but all sports. I truly believe in what we’re building at PointsBet and I’m thrilled to be a part of this team,” she added.
NBC Sports Edge BetCast will provide viewers with data-rich graphics to highlight player scores and positions, as well as PointsBet odds on props.
As well as commentators, coverage will feature a PointsBet sportsbook trader from their trading desk during the four tournament rounds of the Waste Management Phoenix Open.
