PointsBet looks to experience with new non-exec director hire
Veteran executive William Grounds links up with Australia-headquartered operator

PointsBet has confirmed the nomination of William Grounds as an independent non-executive director (NED) as the business looks to add experience to its board of directors.
A dual Australian and US citizen, Grounds is the former president and COO of Infinity World Development Corporation, which functions as an affiliate of UAE-based investment company Dubai World.
In this role, he was responsible for managing a $7bn investment in CityCenter Resort & Casino in Las Vegas with joint venture partner MGM Resorts International, obtaining a substantial shareholding in the firm.
Grounds also served as an NED for MGM for seven years between 2013 and 2021 and has licenses in a number of gaming jurisdictions across the US.
He is currently a director of the Nasdaq-listed speciality finance company Consumer Portfolio Services.
PointsBet chairman Brett Paton cited Ground’s extensive experience in the US as a value add for the Australia-headquartered operator in its US dealings.
“William has tremendous international business and governance experience, with particular strengths in the areas of US sports betting, gaming and casino.
“Further, adding an additional US-based director ensures we continue to have the appropriate level of governance and oversight on the ground in the expanding and ever evolving North American market,” Paton added.
