PointsBet adds former Netflix and Facebook exec as CMO
Kyle Christensen appointed to oversee marketing strategy for the US-focused betting operator after three years with Facebook in LA

PointsBet has recruited ex-Facebook marketing executive Kyle Christensen as its new chief marketing officer (CMO) for the US market.
In his new role, Christensen will oversee PointsBet’s overall marketing strategy, working to drive product growth and gain market share in the US. He will report directly into PointsBet CEO Johnny Aitken.
Christensen previously worked as the head of US brand and consumer marketing for Facebook, leading the social media giant’s first-ever brand marketing campaign, which was called More Together, as well as marketing for the launch of Facebook video platform Facebook Watch.
Christensen also spent a year at National Geographic TV as VP of marketing, where he oversaw the digital transformation of the business.
Before that, he worked two-and-a-half years as a manager of global creative marketing at streaming goliath Netflix.
While at Netflix, Christensen oversaw marketing initiatives surrounding the brand’s global launch and original film and television series, including Narcos and its shows featuring Marvel’s intellectual property portfolio.
PointsBet CEO Aitken highlighted the appointment of Christensen as exemplifying the firm’s ambition to hire the “best talent” in the world.
“Our company’s growth trajectory is exciting and Kyle is going to help take us to the next level,” Aitken said.
“As our business evolves and in-game betting continues to be an ever-more important aspect of the premium experience we offer, upping our game and reaching our customers where they are is critical.
“I couldn’t be more excited to welcome Kyle to our team and can’t wait to see what we build together,” Aitken added.
Christensen will work alongside PointsBet VP of creative Jeff Gamble, who joined the firm in September, and Irish sportsbook veteran Paddy McDermott, who was appointed to the newly created VP role of CRM and promotions in August.
Outside of the US, much of PointsBet’s hiring spree has taken place in Canada, where the operator has added several individuals in key roles over the past six months.
