Playtech’s chief security officer departs
Daniel Liber steps down from his role after spending seven years with the supplier across a trio of roles in the company’s security division

Playtech’s chief security officer Daniel Liber has stepped down from his role at the company after seven years of service.
The exec first joined the FTSE 250 firm as director of application security back in December 2017, a position he would hold until March 2019.
He then moved up to the role of head of information security, which he held between March 2019 and April 2021.
From then onwards, he worked concurrently as chief information security officer and chief security officer.
In this dual role, Liber oversaw 70 direct staff across 10 sites as he played a key role in developing and maintaining the company’s technical security.
Prior to an eight-month stint as a security solutions architect at telecommunications firm Amdocs from May 2017 to December 2017, Liber worked as a research and development security leader at software company CyberArk from June 2014 to October 2016.
Alongside his role at Playtech, Liber has been a member and investor at investment group Cyber Club London since April 2021.
Writing about his departure on LinkedIn, Liber said: “It took me some time to come to terms of writing this, but after seven years my time in Playtech has come to an end.
“This was probably one of the most difficult decisions I took during my professional career, and it was very clear to me on the main contributor to holding me back [from making it] – which was my wonderful team that made me feel as my second home.
“Playtech was a tough but fair school for management – decisions taken at huge scale, in an environment which was on one hand very dynamic but at the same time required strict compliance. I made many mistakes, but more important – tried to learn from each one of them; I wouldn’t trade this experience for any other way.”
Liber’s departure follows the announcement that Playtech non-executive director Anna Massion will step down from her position in February 2025 to pursue other opportunities.
