Playtech readies native-first product line ahead of Apple changes
Fully integrated native product line available to operators prior to September

Playtech has announced the deployment of a native-first product line to support operators preparing for the forthcoming changes to Apple’s App Store guidelines next month.
On 3 September, Apple will start enforcing clause 4.7 in its App Store guidelines, which essentially requires operators to have native apps and content rather than ‘wrapping’ HTML5 games, for example.
Playtech’s native-first product line includes a selection of fully native gaming content and natively compiled games. In addition, the company has launched a Software Development Kit (SDK), allowing its customers to build native apps which are iOS compatible.

Changes to guideline 4.7 were first introduced in June
Playtech has offered a native casino app to its operator partners for the last three years but said it has seen a “noticeable increase in demand” following the proposed changes by Apple in June.
Peter Mares, chief technology officer of Playtech’s Games Innovation Labs, said the new changes created yet another “Apple-shaped hoop” for online gambling operators to jump through.
“To this end, we’re pleased to be able to support our customers in their preparation with a core, native-first product line, including a selection of fully native gaming content and natively compiled games,” Mares added.
