PGA Tour to announce betting developments in H2
Commissioner says the association wants to participate in betting in a way that resonates with fans

The PGA Tour plans to enter the betting fray this year with at least one betting partnership, PGA Tour commissioner Jay Manahan has said.
Speaking at the Sports Business Awards this week, Monahan said: “We’ve spent a lot of time over the last two and a half years clearly understanding all of our options and getting ourselves in a position where we can participate.
“Participate with the right partners, and participate in a way that we think resonates with fans,” he added.
Monahan said the association expects to announce developments in the second half of the year.
The PGA currently has a deal with IMG Arena to distribute official data to operators.
Monahan said data will play an integral role in feeding fans’ appetite to consume content and potentially place bets.
NASCAR this month announced its entry into betting via a partnership with Genius Sports that aims to engage bettors and NASCAR fans.
In February the PGA Tour revised its regulations toward gambling sponsorships, embracing casino deals but still forbidding US partnerships with dedicated sports betting operators.
