Party prepares Danish platform launch
PartyGaming has said it is poised to launch in Denmark next January when it officially regulates, but there are "no guarantees" this will be on behalf of Danish monopoly Danske Spil.

PartyGaming has said its platform is ready to launch in Denmark when it officially regulates in January 2011, but that there is “no guarantee” this will be on behalf of Danish monopoly Danske Spil.
As reported by eGaming Review, PartyGaming’s B2B poker and casino agreement with Danske Spil was cancelled in June when Playtech lodged a successful complaint that the proper tender process had not been adhered to.
In response to a question on whether the Danske Spil tender would be redone by January, chief executive Jim Ryan said: “There are no guarantees.”
Ryan however added: “We positioned ourselves hopefully to do business with Danske Spil in future. At this point in time, we have nothing to announce, but what can I tell you is that we are readying our platform, that is the Party platform, to launch in Denmark on January 1 2011.”
Ryan said that he was hopeful that regulated markets such as Denmark would offer the opportunity for PartyGaming to grow poker and fight back against Stars and Tilt, starting with Italy and France, then Denmark, Belgium, Greece, Spain, and also potentially Canada and the United States.
“If we look at poker from a dot.com perspective, and that is an intensely competitive marketplace and will remain to be a difficult marketplace moving forward.
“However, as we move into regulated markets, particularly ring fenced regulated markets, where competitors can’t bring worldwide liquidity into the equation to compete, we have a level playing field, an opportunity to invest freely in advertising and these factors equal growth.”
