ParlayBay secures industry veteran as chief information officer
Paolo Gazzei joins supplier to develop a deeper range of betting models and increase the number of games in the firm’s portfolio

ParlayBay has appointed former Betgenius head Paolo Gazzei as the supplier’s new chief information officer (CIO).
He joins the sports betting supplier with the remit of developing a deeper range of betting models and increasing the number of games in the company’s portfolio.
Gazzei links up with the firm after six years as chief technology officer for sports betting provider KONECT Official.
Gazzei also served as head of software development and projects at GoldBet between April 2013 and September 2014.
Elsewhere, Gazzei previously held two C-level roles at Betgenius Estonia during a three-year stint with the business.
He joined the firm in January 2010 as chief information officer before taking the reins as CEO in August 2011, and he remained in the top job until he departed the firm in March 2013.
Gazzei has also held a senior role at Rank Interactive between June 2009 and January 2010.
On joining ParlayBay, Gazzei said: “With so many ongoing developments at ParlayBay, now is a really exciting time to join the team as the company continues to grow rapidly around the world with its range of unique sports betting games.
“The popularity of micro-betting is firmly on the rise, and I am looking forward to using my experience in developing engaging sports betting games to help ParlayBay widen its net even further when it comes to products and partners.”
Fredrik Elmqvist, executive chairman at ParlayBay, commented: “Sports betting is becoming more nuanced, and enhanced in-play and micro-betting are all about superior prediction models and the ecosystem that surrounds them.
“Paolo arrives with great experience in this field and knows how to build a strong delivery team, whether that be architecture, tech stack leadership or collaboration with other partners. We are thrilled to have Paolo onboard. He brings a wealth of knowledge to the role and I have no doubt that he will elevate our offering even further.”
Last week, ParlayBay secured €3.5m in a fresh funding round from a collection of industry veterans to further fund the company’s expansion plans.
