
Parimatch recruits CEO for newly created CIS division
Former bwin Russia CEO Dmitry Sergeev to head up new division in expansion effort across Eastern Europe and Asia


Parimatch has appointed Dmitry Sergeev as the CEO of a newly created business division focused on CIS (Commonwealth of Independent States) growth.
The former CEO of Parimatch’s Russia division, Sergeev joined in 2019, quadrupling the growth of the business in the period following his appointment and delivering several new brand launches.
Between 2016 and 2019, Sergeev served as CEO of bwin in Russia, responsible for establishing the company as the first international sports betting operator in the market.
Sergeev, who has more than 15 years’ marketing and business development experience, founded the sports media company “Championship” in 2005, which has since gone on to become one of the largest in Russia and the CIS region.
Parimatch CEO Sergey Portnov said the business had bold ambitions to become the leading betting operator in all of its operational markets.
“The CIS is a key region for us, and I know from his success in heading up Parimatch Russia that Dmitry will provide strong leadership for Parimatch CIS at what is a truly exciting time for the wider business,” said Portnov.
“As we invest in our technology capabilities to deliver innovative and seamless experiences to our two million strong customer base,” Portnov added.

Parimatch has confirmed Ruslan Medved, currently deputy CEO of Parimatch Russia, will assume the role of Parimatch Russia managing director.
Sergeev said: “As CEO of Parimatch CIS I will be focusing on strengthening brand presence, developing and implementing new technical solutions, and ensuring the company’s number one priority is innovation.”
