Paddy Power recruits Jose Mourinho for casino ad campaign
Former Manchester United manager plays a starring role in the Irish operator’s new TV short

Paddy Power has unveiled a new advertising campaign for its Paddy Power Games division fronted by former Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho.
Mourinho, who dubbed himself the ‘Special One’ as Chelsea manager in 2004, takes a tongue-in-cheek approach throughout the video which showcases the operator’s Daily Jackpot product.
According to Paddy Power, the Daily Jackpot is claimed daily, with the prize averaging £40,000 – so “you don’t have to be special to win”.
There are various nods to Mourinho’s career throughout the TV short, including a cleaner offering him a laundry basket and a framed image of Manchester United finishing second in his trophy cabinet.
Paddy Power marketing director Michelle Spillane said: “Jose Mourinho knows a thing or two about being special, so who better to front our Daily Jackpot campaign?
“A household name and one of the most successful managers in football history, it was glorious to work with Jose, and deliver a campaign that has real stand-out for the category,” she added.
The campaign – aided by creative agency VCCP – launched across online on yesterday and on TV, print, out-of-house and social today.
