Paddy Power nets first English shirt sponsorship with Huddersfield Town deal
Irish operator announces surprise partnership with Championship club ahead of the 2019-20 football season

Paddy Power has struck a deal with Huddersfield Town to become the Championship club’s title sponsor for the 2019-20 football season.
The partnership will include the Irish operator’s first ever front-of-shirt sponsorship with an English football club, with the Terriers’ new kit set to be unveiled on 17 July.
Paddy Power boasts an audience of well over two million people across Facebook and Twitter and the operator will replace former Asian-facing gambling firm and shirt sponsor, OPE Sports.

Paddy Power’s brand marketing director Michelle Spillane said: “We are excited to announce that we are Huddersfield Town’s shirt sponsor this season, our first foray into shirt sponsorship.
“They’re a club which, first and foremost, value their fans and know what it means to be a football supporter.
“We’re confident this deal will bring some bite and bark to The Terriers’ upcoming season.”
Huddersfield were relegated after finishing bottom of the Premier League last season but the Terriers are 20/1 to win the Championship with Paddy Power in the outright betting markets.
Huddersfield commercial director Sean Jarvis said: “The front-of-shirt sponsorship is very important to the club and it was vital that we stayed patient to get the right commercial deal.
“We did that and it’s paid huge dividends through this new relationship with one of the most modern-thinking, pro-active businesses in Paddy Power,” he added.
