Octoplay appoints ex-Red Tiger CEO as chair
Startup slots developer brings Gavin Hamilton on board after 18 months away from the industry to lend sector expertise ahead of growth push

Octoplay has appointed former Red Tiger CEO Gavin Hamilton as chairman to aid in the firm’s plans to make a significant impact in the US market.
Hamilton will be linking up with his former colleagues as the slots developer was launched by several Red Tiger alumni, including CEO Carl Ejlertsson, Martina Borg Stevens and Nick Vuchev, last year.
Hamilton returns to the B2B side of the industry for the first time since departing as Evolution’s European commercial director in June 2022.
Hamilton’s first role in the sector came at Paddy Power in August 2011, where he was a senior corporate development manager.
Hamilton held this role for just under three years before being made head of egaming in June 2014. His final role at the operator was as the firm’s director of gaming between April 2016 and February 2017.
Hamilton then moved across to Red Tiger Gaming as managing director, a role he held for just six months before taking the CEO role in September 2017.
Following NetEnt’s acquisition of Red Tiger in 2019, Hamilton moved across to become COO at the company.
Another acquisition followed soon after Evolution snapped up NetEnt in 2020, with Hamilton subsequently being appointed European commercial director for the parent company.
On his new role, Hamilton commented: “I am thrilled to be joining Octoplay as chairman. I am impressed by what they have achieved in such a short period and am excited to be part of the delivery of the strategy going forward.”
Carl Ejlertsson, Octoplay CEO, added: “As we embark on a transformative journey in 2024, Octoplay is poised for a pivotal year. Gavin’s invaluable experience in navigating the intricacies of scaling a business into diverse regulated markets will undoubtedly expedite our development.”
