nVenue adds sports betting experience with Matthew Berry hire
NBC Sports analyst to join emerging micro-betting startup amid NFL launch

nVenue has confirmed the addition of NBC Sports analyst Matthew Berry as a strategic advisor on the emerging market of micro-betting in the US.
Predominantly a fantasy sports analyst spending 15 years as a senior analyst for US broadcaster ESPN, Berry linked up with NBC Sports earlier this year, working through its Peacock online streaming service.
It is understood Berry has advised the firm on a non-employed basis for some time on tech-related issues, however this has now become a full-blown advisory role.
In his new role, Berry will work on ways that nVenue, ostensibly still in its startup phase, can showcase its material as well as advising on developing markets and player props while also providing support and insight on future betting trends.
Much of his immediate work will be on supporting nVenue’s drive into micro-betting, which has gone from relative obscurity to becoming an important new vertical for sports betting firms.
nVenue CEO Kelly Pracht welcomed the official hire of Berry, citing his role in the genesis of the startup business.
“Matthew has been tremendously helpful in his advisory role for nVenue We look forward to collaborating with him to showcase millions of NFL micro-bets to fans each year,” Pracht said.
Speaking about his new role, Berry acknowledged that he had always been a fan of the nVenue business and would look to utilize his knowledge and experience with the firm in the future.
“I’ve always believed in the value what nVenue’s technology brings to the table for fans,” Berry said.
“I’ve made a career out of giving advice and I look forward to sharing the many learnings of my career in sports with the team. I believe micro-betting will be the next big way for fans to engage with games, and nVenue is truly at the forefront of this,” he added.
In addition to confirming the recruitment of Berry, nVenue has confirmed the launch of NFL-based micro-betting markets which will be offered to players via their NextPlayLive API.
A key element of this is the NextPlay data feed, which has previously been deployed in a partnership with the MLB where predictive analytics are showcased for Friday night MLB games on the Apple TV+ streaming service.
