Nottingham Forest’s Harry Toffolo hit with suspended five-month ban for 375 betting offences
Defender was also fined £20,956.22 for FA Rule E1 (b) breaches, with the ban suspended until the end of the 2024-25 season

Nottingham Forest defender Harry Toffolo has been issued with a five-month suspended ban and a £20,956.22 fine by the Football Association (FA) after admitting to breaching FA Rule E1 (b), relating to betting, 375 times.
The ban has been put on hold until the end of the 2024-25 season.
In its statement, the FA said: “The defender admitted that he breached FA Rule E1(b) 375 times between 22 January 2014 and 18 March 2017, and an independent Regulatory Commission imposed his sanctions following a hearing.”
The incidents occurred while Toffolo was playing for Norwich City and out on loan at Swindon Town, Rotherham United, Peterborough and Scunthorpe United.
The defender moved to Nottingham Forest at the beginning of the 2022-23 season following the club’s promotion back to the Premier League.

The FA said the written reasons about the case would be published in due course.
Neither Toffolo nor Nottingham Forest have released a statement about the decision at the time of writing.
This ruling comes in the wake of the lengthy ban handed to Brentford forward Ivan Toney.
In May, Toney was banned from all football and football-related activity for eight months after breaking the FA’s betting regulations 232 times.
Toney was fined £50,000 for the breaches along with the eight-month ban.
This ban meant that Toney will be unable to play again until 15 January 2024 but will be able to return to training from 17 September.
Toney and Toffolo briefly played together for Scunthorpe for five months between January and May 2017.
